Are you WANTED!?

Alright, I went to the Alamanda's GSC and get ahold of the movie WANTED. I'm kinda looking forward to a great movie, but from my view, it's not really that great, but perhaps, it's caused by my lack of comics knowledge! Haha...Since this movie is based on a 5/6 books comic series. (Never heard of it actually!) With Jolie, and some other high-end (ahaha, should I say popular) Hollywood actor/actress, I never thought it will be this "messy". I was complaining since yesterday, until I saw the newspaper this morning, and realized the producer was a new one, in Hollywood (I think so). So, my whole perspective changes. His name was Timur something, and it's awesome that he can get so many good actors/actresses.

What really impress me is the effects. I don't know what software or video editing they use, but I know I saw and learned all this effects in After Effects! (Yea, I'm those video/photographic effects geek!). Though it's a lil' too extreme, but since it's based on a movie, extreme might be a must to follow as close to the storyline.

Anyway, for those who wanna watch superb action, this might be for you (of you don't mind the shaky cameraman!). Oh, yea, I wonder why Malaysian Cinema was so....speechless!!! They gave us a rating as 18SG, so I already expect it will be vulgarity and some killing scenes. They freakingly cut off all the F words and some others words, which I don't remember clearly. I remember a scene where every 2 words they speak, there's a 1 second silence for about 5-6 silences there, which is very irritating. If you're saying 18SX and there's sex scenes, clear one, then you cut it, I don't mind, which is you should. But these are 18SG, and it's only some words there, and you cut it off all, then why don't they just cut all the brutal scenes with blood and just rate is as U (Umum). ZZzzzzZZzzzzz....

Council gets a lot of ‘lip’ stick

By IAN MCINTYRE, FLORENCE A. SAMY and JO TEH

KUALA LUMPUR: Women's groups are again outraged that Kelantan has issued directives on dressing for women.

The latest is the Kota Baru Municipal Council's circular asking Muslim women not to use heavy lipstick nor wear high-heels as they could lead to immoral activities.

“Again and again and again, they are singing the same old song. It is so sad that again they are telling women what to wear and not to wear,” said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen.

“They tell women not to wear lipstick and heels because it will incur unnecessary attention. Are you saying men are that easily attracted and that women are supposed to dress according to what men dictate?” she questioned.

Sisters-in-Islam programme manager Norhayati Kaprawi expressed outrage that the same tune was being sung despite PAS’ promise to drop their Islamic agenda as part of Pakatan Rakyat.

“Why is it that women are very often made victims of moral policing? Even women in tudung wear lipstick. Does this mean they are immoral?

“What is so un-Islamic about wearing high-heels or lipstick?

“Why can’t the Kelantan government concentrate on more important matters such as cleanliness or eradicating poverty?” she asked.

Women’s Aid Organisation executive director Ivy Josiah said it was a recurring nightmare as “this is not the first time that the state is imposing controls on women’s dress, lipstick or hair”.

Women activist Maria Chin Abdullah said: “How are they going to explain children or grandmothers being raped? They do not wear high-heels or lipstick, nor do they ask to be raped yet it happens.”

In Kota Baru, MPKB clarified that remarks on lipstick and high-heel shoes in its circular in May were only meant to encourage Muslim women to observe the Islamic dress code.

Its public relations director Azman Mohd Daham said the circular was merely a guideline.

“No action will be taken if they wear thick make-up or high-heel shoes,” he told journalists.

State Women Affairs Committee chairman Wan Ubaidah Wan Omar was reported to have said that she supported the circular and asked why women should enslave themselves to attract men by wearing high-heels and excessive lipstick.

Seriously, I am speechless when they say wearing high heels may lead to immoral activities!!!! LOL...Let me think, is it like inhumane killing with the sharp end of the high heels? It's possible too right?
